Operationalizing Your Title V Action Plan
During Times of Uncertainty

Building on highly successful Skills Institutes held in 2014, 2016, and 2018, the National MCH Workforce Development Center will offer a free, virtual Skills Institute for state and jurisdictional Title V professionals and their partners in November 2020. Gather a team of colleagues who are ready to turn your Title V Block Grant Action Plan into reality and join Center experts on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons over two consecutive weeks.

Engage with speakers and other participants via the online platform. There will also be optional opportunities to connect with Center experts between the sessions for tailored support.

Join us from 2:00 to 5:00 pm EST
Tuesday, November 10
Thursday, November 12
Tuesday, November 17
Thursday, November 19

*Note that participants are strongly encouraged to attend all four days, as content for each day will build on that of previous days.

Who Should Attend?

Any state or jurisdictional Title V professional interested in meeting with their colleagues and Center experts to:

  • Think strategically about launching their Title V Five-Year Action Plan
  • Strengthen the transition from planning to action
  • Leverage the financial and human resources and assets they have to achieve maximum impact
  • Lean in to their adaptive leadership and resiliency skills when the environment feels challenging.

We encourage you to apply with a team of colleagues (maximum of 10 people) ready to collaborate and work together. Individuals may apply, but may find that it’s easier to make progress with the support of a team. If applying as a team, please feel free to invite partners outside of Title V that are integral to the work of your Title V Action Plan. Family partners are especially encouraged to participate with their state team.

How is a Skills Institute Different from Other Events?

The Institute will expose you to new thinking, tools and knowledge that will propel you toward achieving your Title V Action Plan. The Institute format will allow for immediate application of the learning to your own Action Plan, through participation in highly interactive sessions with opportunities to apply the skills and tools right away.

Set aside this time to work on operationalizing your Title V Block Grant Action Plan. Throughout the Institute you’ll be supported by peers, Center coaches and experts who will provide feedback, encouragement and resources.

“What made the skills institute uniquely valuable for us was the dedicated, protected time to dive deep into a challenge with the opportunity to apply new tools, frames, etc.”
– Previous Skills Institute Participant
