Call for Letters of Interest for the 2024 Learning Journey

August 2, 2023 by Rebecca Greenleaf

Are you interested in building workforce capacity in systems thinking, adaptive leadership, evidence-based decision making, and engagement?

Would you like support for a team of your Title V colleagues and partners working to address a health transformation challenge in your state?

Join the National MCH Workforce Development Center for an engaging and interactive Learning Journey designed to develop your team, explore the challenge, consider the evidence, and plan next steps.

What is included?

  • Ongoing support from a Center coach experienced in working with teams of MCH professionals
  • A two-day, virtual Systems Exploration Workshop to help you examine your challenge
  • A four-day, in-person Learning Institute
  • Monthly learning webinars designed help you apply new tools and skills
  • An in-state consultation by a team of WDC experts co-designed by your team and Center coach
  • Additional support and coaching for team co-leads
  • Additional support and coaching for individuals interested in measurement and evaluation
  • Opportunities to connect with Title V peers from across the country

Who should participate?

The Learning Journey is designed for state Title V professionals and their partners. We encourage you to identify partners/stakeholders in your state to participate with you, as a team approach will better support application of new skills and tools and facilitate better implementation of new strategies and approaches to the challenge. Teams are also encouraged to invite family leaders, community partners, and people with lived experience to be part of the team.

What topics will be covered?

The Workforce Development Center Learning Journey curriculum focuses on four core areas – systems integration, change management, evidence-based decision making, and engagement.

Monthly Learning Webinars

  • Month 1: Welcome Webinar
  • Month 2: Testing to Learn
  • Month 3: Using Time Intentionally
  • Month 4: Implementation Supports
  • Month 5: Systems Mapping Toolbox
  • Month 6: Communicating Up
  • Month 7: Using Evidence Effectively
  • Month 8: Celebration Webinar

How much does it cost?

The MCH WDC is funded by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau. All services are provided at no cost to state agencies. However, to secure a spot in the Learning Journey state teams must commit to participating in all learning opportunities AND to completing all evaluation activities.
